Hey, all! Welcome back to another post here at Creative Connection. This week, we will be looking into something that honestly scared me a little bit at first. For our nonprofit, video marketing was always a distant thought. It seemed like a good idea, but I hatedbeing on camera. However, as our programming expanded, we soon realized the need we had for a new way to disseminate information to our market. That’s when I started exploring the world of video promotion, and thus was born the “Ministry Minute.”
Just like they sound, these videos are one minute long, and in that minute, we pack as much information as we can get about the ministry opportunities we’re offering. These videos have had a terrific response in churches and online because we try to keep them interesting, engaging, and informative. We create one video at the beginning of each month, which is a process that takes MAYBE two hours, and sometimes not even that long. Then, we send that to churches, constituents, followers, and anyone else who typically engages with our content.
Why are videos important? Three reasons. First, they build trust. If people can see and hear you communicating, they are much more likely to trust you. Secondly, it’s easier to convey information. It’s much more difficult to misinterpret words being read than it is if they’re spoken. Lastly, Google LOVES videos! You’re 53 times more likely to show up on Google’s first page if you have a video embedded on your site.
Here’s my friendly advice: give it a try! It may just be the missing link in your marketing plan. In the meantime, check out one of our videos here. See you next week!
